The starting point for horse riding holidays is the Fenyes Puszta Ranch which is only a 2 minute walk away from the Hanga guest-house. The horses are housed in lovely, comfortable stables, there is a large manege and a sand school. A large covered rotunda with an outdoor oven is the perfect place for a party. The horses are Lipizzaners, Hungarian half bloods, Lipizzaner half bloods. They are aged between 5 and 16 years have a good temperament and are very friendly. Our horses enjoy being ridden and each has it's own personality. They go when you want them to and don't just plod along 1 behind the other. We have horses available to suit all abilities. Horse riding is available all year round even in winter. Riding in the snow is good fun and the only time we could not ride out is if the ground was icy.
Should you wish to get involved with grooming and tacking of the horses then you can, however this is entirely at your discretion. Please advise us when booking. We recommend that you bring your own hat and boots and suitable clothing for variable weather conditions. If you don't have your own equipment don't worry as we can provide it, just remember a sturdy pair of boots or shoes.

Carriage driving tuition with a two horse team. Cost is £17 per Hour.
Why not take in the scenery from a horse drawn carriage ride through the forest. The cost is approx £20 / hour for up to 4 people and £30 / hour for 5 - 9 people. A trip to the beautiful 'Ilona' waterfall can also be enjoyed by carriage. You can also enjoy a traditional show of Hungarian horsemanship which lasts about 20-25 minutes at the Ranch or we can organise a trip to a nearby equestrian park to attend a longer, more varied horse show as a half a day's program. All these extra activities can be arranged on request.

This is Betyar, He is a 10 year old Hungarian half blood gelding.
Size: 167cm approx 16.5 hh
Character: Completely dependable and phased by nothing, a really solid companion.
This is Rubint (Ruby), She is a 6 year old Hugarian half blood.
Size: 164 cm approx 16hh.
Character: Calm and collected, a little nonchalent. A really steady horse considering she is still quite young.
This is Pava, she is a 16 year old lipizzaner.
Size: 172cm approx 17 hh
Character: The leader of the pack or so she likes to be. She is also elegant, sure footed and glides in a trot and canter.
This is Bella, She is a 16 year old lipizzaner.
Size: 166cm approx 16.5 hh
Character: Really friendly and loves apples. She is graceful and elegant and doesn’t she know it!
This is Szarcsa, she is a 5 year old Hungarian Half blood.
Size: 160cm approx 15.5hh
Szarcsa is the baby of the bunch still but is very reliable out on the trail.
This is Hera, she is an 9 year old Hugarian half blood.
Size: 162cm approx 16hh
Character: loves to have fun, she is a great companion for the more experinced rider. Very sure footed.
Bitang is a 3 year old Lippizzaner.
Herceg is a 6 year old lipizzaner arab cross.
Kedves is a 10 year old Hungarian half blood.
The ranch also has a rare breeds sanctuary, home to various ancient Hungarian breeds of animals such as the grey ox, the "mangalica" pig, goats and various other animals which can be admired in their own enclosure.
